Fire Dance
By: Michelle Sipe

Why does the fire dance so joyously?
Her orange, red and yellow skirt a wild flair.
The windblown smoke of her wild hair to cloud the air and tear the eye.
Her eyes are golden sparks, alive with being free.
The spicy wood smoke is her perfume.
The scent teases the nose until the wind chases it away.
Her laugh crackles and pops in a soothing way, her joy is such a delightful display.
She is so free in her wild dance, thanking the gods of love and chance.
The warmth on your face is her gentle breath.
The light in your eyes is her colorful dress.
Her song is the wind in the leaves.
She needs nothing and knows nothing but the rhythem of her feet.
Why does the fire dance so joyously?
What does she know that we can not see?

I wrote this for a college class, got a good grade on it so decided to share.
